Finally... all the last minute chores, emails, paperwork, and stowing was done and we said goodbye.

 

Border Force came and quickly signed off on the paperwork to clear Rusalka to depart.

Alex called out “Cast off!” and Jane and Cheryl dropped the lines.  And just like that, they’re on their way…

 

 

However, today will not be a big day.  MetBob has suggested a route for Rusalka that arcs to the north in order to avoid some big seas in a couple of days.  That means their initial course will be to the northeast.

Therefore, Alex has decided to head for Norfolk Bay on the Tasman Peninsula and will anchor for the night and then go through the Denison Canal in the morning, saving time sailing around the corner of the Tasman Peninsula.  So one quiet night before they get into the swell!
