Rusalka and her crew enjoyed an excellent sail from Kettering to Norfolk Bay on the Tasman Peninsula.

After a peaceful night’s rest at Lime Bay they had a late morning start in order to catch the high tide that would allow Rusalka to transit the Denison Canal and shallow Marion Narrows.

With 20kts of wind at their back, they sped past the bridge, through the canal, and out into Marion Narrows, where it is important to follow the leads as the water to either side can be less than 1 metre under the keel!

After a successful transit, Rusalka popped out into Marion Bay and headed north, past Maria Island.

As of this afternoon, they’ve pulled into Prosser Bay, near Orford, to attend to some issues with the Iridium satellite communications.

And had a hearty meal of lamb stew with boiled potatoes.
