Rusalka is packed up and bedded down for a bit of a rest.
We deflated the dinghy, pickled the watermaker, emptied the fridge and freezer, and gave the boat a good cleaning before we said our goodbyes and left her in the care of Waikawa Marina. Yesterday we took the ferry to Wellington and today we are flying back to Hobart.
But we will be back!
The plan, at this point, is to come back a couple of times over the winter to do a little sailing if the weather allows (or do a road trip if it doesn’t) and again in spring to pull the boat out for a bottom clean and antifouling. Then, if DOC and the weather permit, Alex and crew will head south for another attempt at reaching the Auckland Islands, probably in late November – December.
