Storm Preparations: As Rusalka charges NW trying to get out of the way of the bad weather to come on Mon/Tues, Alex and crew are doing a few things to prepare for the wind and waves.

On the way over Alex noticed that when a wave splashed into the cockpit some water could get in under the washboard, which is not very tight, and into the saloon.  So today he stuffed some cord in behind the lower washboard to give it a better seal.

This afternoon, the crew attached the running back stays which will support the mast when the storm jib is flying from the inner forestay.

The wind is expected to come up from WNW tomorrow and will swing to SW early on Tuesday.  Alex mentioned that a lot of mental energy is being spent thinking about what’s coming and what to do about it.  He asked for another routing update from MetBob today and it looks like they will avoid the worst of the weather.

All crew are feeling positive and relaxed!

No distance travelled statistics today as Alex slept through the midday log reporting.
