The weather has been benign for the first 2 days of the voyage.  Light winds (10kts) and calm seas (0.5 – 1m) has been a great way to settle into watch-keeping and sailing the boat.

It takes a few days for the body to get used to the watch system.  With three crew, Rusalka is on a system of 3 hours on watch, 6 hours off watch. This means that each person will rotate through the 3 hour slots and no-one gets stuck on the midnight to 3am shift every day.  Six hours off watch allows for a decent amount of sleep if they go straight to bed, but of course it’s still tiring.

It's not all hard work!

Dinner - Hope River meat pies (best I've had!) and coleslaw

There are still a couple of days of light wind for Rusalka to sail and motor through, but a low pressure system is forecast to develop over the weekend that may impact Rusalka.  MetBob, the weather router, and Alex are both aware of this and will be planning for it.
